What is Happy?
Happy is a mobile app that connects individuals facing daily stresses and significant challenges in life with exceptionally compassionate listeners. This connection is made over the phone, on-demand, in an affordable and secure environment. Emotional support is a fundamental human need, yet over 50 million Americans are not receiving enough of it. Happy was designed to provide people with immediate access to the empathy and encouragement they need to thrive.
Who Will You Talk To?
Our community consists of over 2400 compassionate individuals known as Happy Givers. These Givers have shown an innate ability for deep listening and acceptance. They are non-judgmental, affirming of others, and skilled at asking questions that help callers gain a fresh perspective. To ensure the highest quality of support, individuals applying to be a Giver undergo a comprehensive evaluation process. This includes an initial over-the-phone interview, understanding of guidelines, assessment, and a mock call. Approved Givers are then required to pass a background check and demonstrate comprehension of Happy's guidelines through a test before they can begin taking calls. Each call with a Support Giver is rated to constantly improve the intelligent caller-giver matching system and enhance the quality of the Happy experience.
How Much Does It Cost?
We strive to provide affordable access to the emotional support you deserve. Rates are only $12 per half hour, prorated per minute, so you only pay for the time you need. Plus, your first call is free!
How Do I Start?
Simply download the app, create a brief profile, and click "connect." You will be matched with a compassionate Happy Giver. We all experience moments when we could benefit from extra support. Some moments are life-changing—such as becoming a parent, relocating to a new city, or losing a loved one. Others are part of everyday life—like feeling discouraged at work, frustrated with a partner, or experiencing self-criticism. Happy provides you with a safe space to discuss whatever you want for as long as you want.
